ROBERT DOWNEY JR. THE WING CHUN MASTER

During RDJ's fight with addiction, wing chun helped Robery concentration and discipline his mind and body reach sobriety...

During RDJ's battle with addiction, wing chun (or wing tsun as we call it) helped Robery focus and discipline his mind and reach sobriety. After only one year of wing chun instruction Robert said this. "Martial has just been... I can’t even say how much it’s impacted my ability to stay well and focused,” RDJ went on to say. “It’s a spiritual practice. It’s grounded me and its primary purpose is to promote a sense of spiritual warriordom and to respect your society and to be prepared to defend yourself and your society if necessary.”

Just 3 years into his kung fu training with his Sifu (teacher) Oram when he was just about to start his grading at his school. Downey opened up about his devotion to the martial art on Late Show With David Letterman. “I am deeply committed to Wing Chun,” he said to David, before avidly explaining and showing off Biu Tze form - the form of thrusting fingers.

Wing chun just not only helps centre a person when struggling with mental health issues and/or diseases. It also helps protect the individual from physical danger, discipline the individual and teach the important and effective self defence for any situation.
