Adding to the fight fit programme
This week we are supplementing the fight fit programme with new drills to keep out students fight and their reactions sharp.
This week we are supplementing the fight fit programme with new drills to keep out students fight and their reactions sharp. This week is all about switching rapidly from defence to attack at a moments notice. We work on this by going through our usual attack drills. Stepping in and out with each punch drill: one - stepping in with a vertical punch jab. two - stepping in for a two cross vertical punches but heavy on the second hand. Three - punching diagonally with a heavy third punch , but sinking you weight down for more effect. And four to punch down on the opponent body to the gut (the poon sau punch). This is followed by reaction drills - defend and attack. When the pad holder calls out "defend!" the had holder proceeds to attack the defender with strikes with the pad which the defender must defend against with their guard. "Attack!" is call right after in which the practitioner must give a constant high pressured barrage of cross punches until the pad holder calls out the next command.
This programme helps our students to not only burn fat in a fun and effective manner. But also create a constantly changing environment in which they have to adapt to, sharpening their senses and preparing them for a world there anything can happen.
